Our board meetings occur once a month and are posted on our calendar. Apart from the first meeting after our AGM, all members are invited and encouraged to attend meetings. This is your chance to provide input, volunteer with our club, and get involved. If you would like a copy of our board minutes, please email the club.

Hazel had been an avid road and cyclo-cross rider for several years and recently added mountain biking to her repertoire. She quickly realized that mountain biking is is so much fun!
Vice President: Terra
What can we say about Terra?
Talented, tenacious, tough, and truly amazing!
A cycling enthusiast (road and triathlon) from a young age, Margot started mountain biking only a few years ago. As a supportive mom on a borrowed hard-tail, she eagerly tagged behind her son on the trails. While she still can’t keep up with him, she has embraced the love of single-track and looks for every opportunity to learn new skills. The Dirty Girlz Bike Club has helped to broadened Margot’s cycling network of like-minded women across the island. Come join us for a ride!
A beautiful smile and the patience of an angel. That’s Michele!
Members at Large:
Amanda is a fun-loving dare-devil, and is on the
look-out for new handlebar streamers.
Bobbi has been a member of the club since 2014. She’s loved bikes since getting her first one in the early 80’s. She won it at the grocery store and it was a black Huffy, an early rendition of a mountain bike with knobby tires, red fenders, a black banana-esque seat, BMX-style handle bars, no gears, and coaster brakes. It was a bit too big and definitely meant to be a “boys” bike, but she loved it!
Lucky for her, her family moved to a neighbourhood with a small pump track. A kind family had built one in their backyard and any of the neighbourhood kids could ride it. Only one rule, walk your bike across the lawn…
As Bobbi grew up, she became self-conscious and outgrew her bike. Her next one was a red Schwinn 10 speed… oh the 80s! She dabbled in mountain biking in college in the 90’s and loved it, but didn’t have a social network that encouraged her to ride regularly. Long story short, when she moved to Victoria and found the Dirty Girlz, she found her mountain biking home.
Catherine really got into the mountain bike scene about 5 years ago and has never looked back. Having learned at Hartland, she loves the punchy, technical terrain and enjoys seeing others master difficult features! Also into safety, she appreciates the fast flowy rides that push everyone within their limits and tries to ensure everyone is prepared, just in case things go wrong. 🙂
Deanna’s mountain biking adventures started off spending most weekend chasing her husband and his buddies down the mountains. She longed for some girls to ride with whose only advice was not just to “go faster”. She joined the Dirty Girlz a couple years ago and has noticed a dramatic improvement in her skills and confidence both on technical uphill and downhill. She loves new challenges and conquering something new on every ride.
Helen likes bikes – all kind of bikes.
She started riding in Scotland where she was riding trail centers and big mountain routes, snacking on haribo and haggis along the way. She decided the world of work was a bit inconvenient so took a year off to ride bikes. She rode solo and unsupported from Saigon (South Vietnam) to Singapore and then moved to France to ride in Morzine, the downhill mecca of Europe for 4 months.
Helen moved to Canada five years ago as she’d heard there was some good biking, and since then has been discovering the fantastic riding here. Most weekends she’ll be on her bike, trying to find new trails, playing on old favourites and probably getting pretty lost in the process. Any rumours of “Helen Hell-rides” are completely exaggerated and misrepresented.
When not climbing mountain biking trails faster than a speeding bullet, Jess can be found competing in the BC Bike Race or wearing a chick costume while competing in the Cross on the Rocks.
Lynn. Is. Amazing.
Louise started mountain biking almost 10 years ago in the Tweed Valley bike hub of Scotland. It was her and her partner’s love of biking which resulted in their emigration to BC in 2016. Having mostly ever ridden (i.e. struggled to keep up) with her boyfriend, and his guy friends, Louise was so grateful to find the Dirty Girlz! She feels riding with the group quickly improved her confidence and skill levels (particularly in Hartland!) and she just loves having like-minded women to have fun, laughter-filled and inspiring rides with. When she’s not riding with the Dirty Girlz, she’s easily spotted on the trails with her equally bike-crazy dog, Patch.
Sharon’s boyfriend’s passion for mountain biking drew Sharon to the Dirty Girlz Bike Club in 2011, as she wanted to find some females interested in the sport. She soon became hooked on the sport, loving the thrill of achieving the latest rock face or challenge of the climb.
She will be forever grateful to the Dirty Girlz beginner rides, which are a great place to meet similar minded women and practice those essential skills. Sharon can be seen weeknights and weekends at Hartland. Look out for her and say “hi”.
Tamara likes bikes. Tamara likes dirt. She put the two together by joining the Dirty Girlz and now has a permanent smile attached to her face. Mountain biking has upped her game of life.
