July 26, 2021 Update
On July 1, 2021, British Columbia moved to Step 3 of its Restart Plan. Sport organizations are no longer required to have a COVID-19 Safety Plan, but a Communicable Disease Prevention Plan as per WorkSafe BC is recommended. The Dirty Girlz Bike Club’s plan follows.
- We will monitor, review, and follow communicable disease-related information and direction issued by the regional and provincial Public Health Officers.
- Members who are exhibiting signs of potentially communicable disease (e.g., fever, chills, coughing, diarrhea, etc.) will not be permitted to join rides.
- Members are expected to wash their hands regularly and cough or sneeze into their elbow.
- Before and after handling another rider’s equipment (e.g., bike, tools, etc.), members are expected to use hand sanitizer they have brought with them.
The move to the next and final step (Step 4) of BC’s Restart plan is expected to occur on September 7, 2021, at the earliest. The Public Health Officer will advise when it is time to move to Step 4.

June 9, 2021 Update
Hoorah! Yippee! Woot, Woot!
We started group rides again on Saturday, June 19, 2021!
Upon completion of forms and payment, you will be invited to join a private group where you can sign-up for rides on a first-come, first-served basis
Sign-up for rides is now mandatory and only open to those holding a 2021/2022 membership — please visit our Membership and Forms page for details on how to become a member!
Since we are still in pandemic mode, the max capacity per group is 6 including the host; a waitlist will also be created. The number of rides we offer on a given date will depend on the number of hosts available. If you would like to host rides, please let us know!
We will remain vigilant with respect to Covid protocols, including physical distancing of 3 meters (yes, three!) during a ride. It’s so easy to forget while you’re focussed on keeping the rubber-side down! Don’t be afraid to remind each other to keep enough distance and don’t take offence if reminded!
NOTE: Please use the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool to determine your health before the ride. You may not attend a ride if ill, no matter how minor symptoms may be or if you have been in contact with someone who is ill in the last 14 days.
Keep in mind that a spike in Covid cases could affect this plan, so keep an eye on this page for any updates.
Stay safe and healthy, and see y’all soon!

February 10, 2021 Update
While club rides have been halted due to Covid 19 restrictions, the DGZ board members have been continuing to meet monthly via Zoom, including yesterday evening. With the days getting warmer and longer (sure signs of Spring 🙂) we expect many of you, like ourselves, look forward to the relaunch of club rides. At present, the restrictions in place for adult group rides remain limited to 4 people, physically distanced by 3 meters. Even though we are eager to relaunch group rides, the board feels it is best to continue to hold off at this time. Several factors have been considered in making this decision including: the number of available hosts, the challenge of organizing physical distancing between several groups (starting at the same time or staggered starts), and how busy the parking lot and trails presently are (particularly on weekends), etc. We will continue to monitor for changes in the return to play guidelines for adult cycling club rides and will keep you informed via Spond, Facebook, and this website.
Stay safe, keep the rubber side down and we and look forward to seeing you all out of the trails (hopefully sooner than later😉)!

November 19, 2020 Update
In accordance with the Provincial Health Officer’s health order that takes effect November 19th at midnight, the Dirty Girlz Bike Club is cancelling all rides until the health order has been rescinded.
We are all super sad, but need to do everything we can to stop the spread, so we can get back out there as a group.
Stay safe. Be kind. Wear a mask when out and about.
Until we ride again,
The Dirty Girlz Board
